Colts 2020 mock draft 1.0
By Ryan Stano
Anthony Castonzo might be retiring in the offseason. If they do, left tackle will be more of a priority than the fourth round. But if he doesn’t the Colts should still look at creating more depth at that position. That’s where Robert Hunt comes in.
Hunt is a big guy at 6’5 322. You need someone who is that big protecting your quarterback’s blindside. Hunt has the tools and the size to be a very capable left tackle at the next level. If he is developed right, he could eventually become a starter in this league.
The biggest knock against Hunt is that he didn’t go against any elite talent while he was in school. He played in the Sun Belt conference which doesn’t exactly have the best talent in college football. He blocked well against teams in that conference, but hasn’t gotten a chance to prove anything against better competition.
That’s where his development comes in. Hunt can sit and learn behind some great offensive linemen that the Colts already have, and then fill in if he is needed. It would help to have someone other than Le’Raven Clark at the left tackle position behind Castonzo.
The fourth round is pretty much as far as we can project right now without having combine numbers to go into it. But this would be a pretty solid four round draft haul if all of these players are available.
