Ian Rapaport reported on Twitter that the former Dolphins break out star, and traded to the Eagles, Jay Ajayi, will meet with the Indianapolis Colts next week.

The running back is coming off an ACL tear and missed most of the season in 2018. The 25-year-old running back, still in his prime, will be another key player to add to an offense that needs more weapons for Andrew Luck.

The sophomore General Manager, Chris Ballard, is looking to build on the success from last year when the Colts went 9-1 after going 1-5 to make it to the Divisional Round. While the biggest turn around was the defense, they could use a stand out running back and one who is a pass catcher also.

Letting Ajayi walk would be a mistake by a GM who won the Executive of the Year and had the AFC Coach of the Year in their first and second seasons. Although they signed a big target in Devin Funchess, now it’s time to sign a great running back to complement Andrew Luck’s arm.

Ajayi won the Super Bowl with the Eagles so he brings a winning mentality and a mental toughness from battling his injury. If the Colts sign him, two players will be coming off of an ACL tear, including Deon Cain.

Next. Colts re-sign Pierre Desir. dark

Not only will Ajayi hopefully sign with the Colts, I still believe Nelson Agholor will be traded to the Colts and our weapons for Luck will be revamped to take some pressure off of Hilton. Hopefully, the Colts won’t let Ajayi leave without a contract and a new team to play for in 2019.
