The Colts have added one of their most legendary players to Frank Reich’s coaching staff as Reggie Wayne will work with the team’s receiving corps.

It’s been a fantastic offseason for one of the greatest players in Colts history.

The organization announced that Reggie Wayne will be inducted into the Colts’ ring of honor on November 18th of next season. In the meantime, he’ll be keeping busy by volunteering as a receivers coach this offseason.

Wayne will join fellow Colts legend Robert Mathis on the coaching staff.

Reggie has been working as an analyst on the NFL Network ever since he retired from the league in 2014 after 14 years in Indianapolis.

Wayne has a strong connection with the Colts’ new head coach Frank Reich, who was Reggie’s wide receivers coach back in 2011.

Reich told the Colts’ official website that he is extremely excited to bring Wayne in to work with the team.

"“I know the kind of person and the kind of pro that we’re getting. I know his knowledge of the game, his leadership on the field — really, with the whole team — but specifically with the wide receiver group can be dynamic,” said Reich."

Wayne began work with the Colts’ receiving corps, in conjunction with assistant wide receivers coach Kevin Patullo, during Phase 2 of the offseason workout program.

Indianapolis’ roster has obviously undergone a major makeover since Wayne last wore a Colts uniform in 2014, but he got to see the outstanding connection between Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton firsthand as they made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game that season.

Luck and Hilton will need to have some similar success again next season if they want to rebound from their 4-12 campaign a year ago.

Reggie Wayne can now help them make that happen by sharing some of his knowledge of the game with the Colts as a coach.
