Colts: Malik Hooker Won’t Discuss Timetable for Return from Injury
By Andrew Ites
Colts fans haven’t heard any updates on Malik Hooker’s health after suffering a torn ACL in October, and that continued today.
Some of the Colts’ players spoke to the media during a press conference today as they continue their offseason program.
Malik Hooker was one of those players, but he refused to answer any questions about the status of his knee after a torn ACL ended his promising rookie season after just seven games.
Hooker made a major impact in limited action last year with 3 interceptions and 4 pass breakups in those seven games, including a few spectacular plays that showcased why the Colts were so excited when he dropped to the 15th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
However, the reason Hooker fell in the draft was some growing concern about his injury history.

Hooker’s torn ACL can’t really be connected to his injury issues from his days at Ohio State as it came from an awkward collision while running down a play against the Jaguars.
ACL recoveries can last anywhere from 8-12 months, and there is always some form of uncertainty that an athlete can come back with the same type of explosion. Although, many players have enjoyed some fantastic success after coming back from a serious knee injury.
Andrew Luck’s shoulder recovery has stolen many of the headlines during the offseason, but Malik Hooker’s rehab is a similarly important storyline for the future of the Colts’ franchise.
It’s way too early to speculate when Hooker will return to the field, but we’ll keep an eye out for updates as the offseason rolls along.
