Indianapolis Colts 2018 Mock Draft 2.1: Rounds 2-3
By Andrew Ites
Round 2: 36th Overall Pick
The Colts didn’t have much depth behind T.Y. Hilton at wide receiver on the roster last season, and they may be looking to add some talent at that position in the draft.
Courtland Sutton is a 6′ 4″ 216-pound receiver whose skill set would be a great compliment to Hilton in Indianapolis’ receiving corps. Hilton is great in the intermediate and deep passing game, but he doesn’t have the size to pull down contested catches in the red zone.
Courtland Sutton dominated in the red zone during his career at SMU. He hauled in 31 touchdowns combined over his final three seasons, and he also racked up over 1,000 yards receiving in his final two years.
If Sutton slides out of the first round, the Colts would be wise to scoop him up at the beginning of the second round.
