ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Dave DeGuglielmois and Jerry Schuplinski will be joining Josh McDaniels’ coaching staff with the Colts.
Josh McDaniels wasted no time in hiring his defensive coordinator as Matt Eberflus will be joining the coaching staff in Indianapolis. Former Patriots assistant quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski and former Dolphins offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmois will also join McDaniels’ staff in Indianapolis next season.
Jerry Schuplinski began his coaching career as a high school head coach, then spent six seasons as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach in college at Case Western Reserve. Schuplinski joined New England’s staff as a coaching assistant in 2013, and he’s been the Patriots’ assistant quarterbacks coach under Josh McDaniels for each of the past two seasons.
Schefter did not specify what Schuplinski’s role will be with the Colts, but I would guess he would become the new quarterbacks coach in Indianapolis.
Dave DeGuglielmois was the Dolphins’ offensive line coach from 2009-11, and Miami brought him back in as an offensive assistant in 2017 after offensive line coach Chris Foerster resigned following his viral video snorting a white substance.

DeGuglielmois has spent 12 years coaching at the NFL level during his career, and 13 years coaching in college. He’s been on two Super Bowl champion coaching staffs as the assistant offensive line coach on the Giants’ 2007 team and the offensive line coach on the Patriots’ 2014 team.
DeGuglielmois was fired after the Patriots’ loss in the AFC Championship Game in 2015.
Schefter didn’t specify DeGuglielmois’ role either, but I’m guessing he will be the new offensive line coach in Indianapolis.
We’ll keep you updated as McDaniels continues to fill out his coaching staff after officially taking the job on Tuesday.
