VIDEO: Peyton Manning Surprises Colts Fans at his Statue
By Andrew Ites
Peyton Manning surprised Colts fans outside of Lucas Oil Stadium to take pictures with them next to his new statue. Their reaction was priceless.
The Colts’ organization decided to reward the best player in franchise history with a statue in front of Lucas Oil Stadium this season. Manning’s statue was unveiled in a ceremony on October 7th, and it was one of the only good memories of a disappointing 2017 season.
The Colts did pick up one of their few wins in Manning’s honor with a 26-23 overtime victory over the 49ers the day after the statue unveiling ceremony. The 14-time Pro Bowl quarterback decided to go out on his own to meet Colts fans near his statue before that game, and NFL Films was there to cover it all.

Peyton Manning is one of the biggest celebrities in America, and he is definitely the most popular person in the state whenever he visits Indianapolis. However, he told his entourage to move along as Manning headed towards his statue without any cameramen following him so he could surprise his fans.
It was only a matter of time until fans started to recognize the 6′ 5″ future Hall of Famer, and he took the time to take a picture with a multitude of fans next to his new statue.
The reactions from those Peyton Manning fans gave me goosebumps as I was watching. They were able to hold it together while they were posing for pictures with the Super Bowl Champion quarterback, but NFL Films caught them getting emotional shortly after the snapshot.
