The Colts are playing on national television for the third time this season as they host the Broncos on Thursday Night Football.

Indianapolis and Denver have been two of the premier franchises in the AFC over the past 20 years, and each of these teams came into this season with hopes of making the playoffs. Neither team has lived up to expectations in 2017, but they’ll have an opportunity to pick up a win in front of a national audience on Thursday night.

The Colts are only a few days removed from an overtime loss in a Buffalo blizzard against the Bills, and it will be a struggle for this coaching staff to get their team prepared and motivated to play on a short week.

The Broncos snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 23-0 win over the Jets last week in Denver. Their shutout victory could act as a springboard to a strong finish to a disappointing season.

The Colts’ home-field advantage could be a key factor in this game as the Broncos have not won a road game yet this season. Two of Indianapolis’ three wins have come in front of their home crowd this year, and they’ll be leaning on the energy of Lucas Oil Stadium to carry them in a tough spot this week.

While each of these fanbases may be hoping for a higher draft pick this offseason, both of these coaching staffs are in desperate need of a win to save their jobs.
