Andrew Luck Already Ruled Out for Week 2
By Andrew Ites
Andrew Luck being ruled out for Week 2’s game against the Cardinals shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, but it is yet another discouraging sign in his long road to recovery from offseason shoulder surgery.
CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora has been pretty plugged in to Andrew Luck‘s status during this offseason and heading into the regular season, and he reported on Sunday that Luck could be out “several more weeks“.
With that in mind, it was a bit of a given that he would be holding a clipboard for this week’s upcoming matchup with the Cardinals.
Head coach Chuck Pagano has already announced that Luck will be out again this week, and the struggling Colts will have to try to find a way to win without him for the second straight game.
Their first attempt didn’t go too well on Sunday as they were blown out by the Rams 46-9 as Scott Tolzien threw two pick-six’s before he was benched for the newly-acquired Jacoby Brissett.
Brissett has shown he’s much more talented than Tolzien, but he still won’t be able to lift this team to the level that Luck did last season, and that was still only an 8-8 football team.

At this point, it seems like Colts fans would be content to see Andrew Luck placed on IR and not risk his long-term health for a return this season. The Colts’ offensive line is still incapable of providing sufficient protection for him, and this defense isn’t good enough to compete for a playoff spot in the AFC.
I agree with that sentiment, and wouldn’t be surprised to see Luck sidelined for the rest of the season.
