With tons of new faces on this Colts team heading into 2017, it will be crucial for their players to get meaningful reps in this year’s preseason.

Sunday, August 13th

Indianapolis Colts vs. Detroit Lions

Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana

When: 1:30 PM ET

TV: FOX59

Preview: The Colts take on playoff teams in three of their four preseason games, which will provide good competition for the front office to evaluate their players. Indianapolis lost a thrilling 39-35 game against the Lions in Week 1 last year, and this preseason matchup should be entertaining as well.

When: 7:00 PM ET

TV: FOX59

Preview: The Colts haven’t been to Jerry World since they were blown out by the Cowboys 42-7 in 2014. This matchup will provide a stiff test for an Indianapolis defense that ranked dead last against the run last season according to Football Outsiders.

More from Horseshoe Heroes

Preview: This is a rematch of last year’s Thanksgiving night game where the Steelers beat an Andrew Luck-less Colts team 28-7. Luck will likely miss another meeting with the Steelers as he’s not expected to take many game reps during the preseason this year.

Pittsburgh is a sure bet to make the playoffs again this season, and this will be a good test for the third preseason game where the starters could play into the third quarter.

Thursday, August 31st

Indianapolis Colts vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana

When: 7:00 PM ET
TV: FOX59

Preview: The fourth and final preseason game will be crucial for players at the end of the roster to prove that they should make the cut for the regular season 53-man roster. Don’t expect to see more than one series from the starters in this game.
