The Indianapolis Colts host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but injuries are starting to pile up for the home team.

The Colts released their first injury report of the week and it featured seven starters sitting out today’s practice with injuries. Three others sat out today as well.

Andrew Luck is obviously still out this week. Luck spoke with reporters today for the first time since he was diagnosed with a lacerated kidney. It remains to be seen when he will come back, but Luck was confident that he would be on the field by or before the December 27 meeting with the Miami Dolphins.

Rookie receiver Phillip Dorsett was also out today as he continues to recover from ankle surgery. He’s just getting back to the field, and the earliest we could expect to see him is December 6 against the Steelers.

Safety Mike Adams was out once again with an ankle injury. He missed last week’s game but coach Chuck Pagano thought he could return to practice on Thursday.

Left tackle Anthony Castonzo was out today with a knee sprain. He is listed as week-to-week with there being serious doubt about his availability on Sunday. The Colts have been relatively healthy along the offensive line, and now the lineup will have to be shuffled around with Castanzo’s absence

Vontae Davis left last week’s game early with a hamstring injury and it sidelined him today at practice. He is listed as day-to-day but losing him before facing Mike Evans would be a big blow to the defense.

Linebacker Jerrell Freeman was kept out today with a rib injury. Frank Gore was also out with an ankle injury. Gore took a few plays off against the Falcons as a trainer checked him out, but managed to return to the game.

Rookie cornerback D’Joun Smith was limited in practice today with a knee injury. Smith was activated from the IR/Designated to return list last week and played on Sunday. This is likely precautionary to see how his knee reacts after playing in a game.

Guard Hugh Thornton was limited today with a shoulder injury while Erik Walden didn’t practice due to a sore foot.

The Colts had been surprisingly healthy this season, but now it looks like injuries are catching up with the team.
