Colts at Falcons Injury Report: Adams, Jackson Still Out

facebooktwitterreddit

The Indianapolis Colts, supposedly refreshed after the Bye Week, could be without a couple difference makers on the defensive side of the ball when they face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The team will already be without Andrew Luck for the foreseeable future and it remains to be seen if he’ll even travel with the team to Atlanta this weekend.

Safety

Mike Adams

and linebacker

D’Qwell Jackson

were both kept out of practice for the second straight day. Jackson tweaked his hamstring on Monday and despite coach Chuck Pagano saying he expected him back on the field today, it didn’t happen. Adams is dealing with an ankle injury suffered during an interception return against the Broncos and Pagano wouldn’t yet rule him out for Sunday.

Both players have had a big impact on the defense this season. Adams leads the team in takeaways with five interceptions, tied for first in the NFL. Jackson currently leads the team and NFL in tackles with a staggering 93.

Nate Irving, who would likely be the first off the depth chart to take Jackson’s spot, was limited today with a knee injury that has kept him out the past few games.

Rookie receiver Phillip Dorsett was also out today as he heals up from ankle surgery. He likely won’t return to the practice field until next week at the earliest.

Robert Mathis and Andre Johnson were both given Wednesday off for rest, but return to practice today.
