Colts Injury Report: Vontae Davis Cleared to Play Sunday

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis moved quickly through the NFL concussion protocol this week. After suffering the head injury in Monday night’s game against the Jets, Davis took the field on Thursday and fully participated in practice. He has been cleared to play against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday.

The Colts secondary is paper thin right now, even with Davis on the field. Greg Toler has been dealing with a neck injury since the preseason, and while he’s made progress he is still questionable for Sunday. Third string and slot corner Darius Butler was out at practice once again on Thursday with a hip injury that kept him out this past week.

Tight end Dwayne Allen was out again today as he is still recovering from an ankle injury. No practice two days in a row puts Allen playing on Sunday into doubt.

Left guard Lance Louis is still dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out of practice on Wednesday. He has progressed and was limited on Thursday.

Rush linebacker Trent Cole was a new addition to the injury report. He was limited today with a knee injury that must have occurred during Wednesday’s practice. Robert Mathis is still listed as limited as the Colts ease him back into full practices and game work.

Jonathan Newsome made it through Wednesday’s practice without any setbacks and was again a full participant in today’s work. He was out Monday with a sore hamstring.

Bjoern Werner and D’Qwell Jackson were both given Thursday off for rest. Andre Johnson was back at work today after having Wednesday off for rest.
