Colts at Titans Injury Report: Vontae Davis Limited With Concussion

The Indianapolis Colts face the Tennessee Titans this Sunday, and are still searching for their first win of the season. The team has been shaken by injuries over the past couple weeks and are playing a wait-and-see game with a couple key players.

Vontae Davis suffered a concussion in the first half of the Jets game on Monday night. He is currently in the protocol but was on the field today in a red non-contact jersey which is a step in the right direction. Davis was oddly listed on the official report with a shoulder injury and was limited in his participation.

Cornerback Greg Toler finally made his way back to the field after suffering a neck injury in the preseason. He was limited today and coach Chuck Pagano listed him as day-to-day. Darius Butler, the third string and slot corner, was out today as he is still working back from a hip injury.

The Colts desperately need to get at least two of these corners back on the field if they want to be able to stop anyone (even a rookie like Marcus Mariota). The secondary was picked apart late in Monday’s game due to having inferior players on talented receivers.

Robert Mathis was listed as limited today as the team is keeping his workload light. He was only on the field for 14 snaps against the Jets as the team eases him back into the game. Jonathan Newsome, who was out against the Jets with a sore hamstring, was a full participant today.

Sitting out today were Dwayne Allen, guard Lance Louis, and Andre Johnson. Johnson had the day off for rest. Allen was out with an ankle injury, but it doesn’t sound as severe as the one that sidelined him for a good portion of last season. Louis was out with a shoulder injury.
