The Indianapolis Colts are loaded at wideout this season with a number of young playmakers such as emerging 2nd-year pro Donte Moncrief, rookie 1st rounder Phillip Dorsett, and former CFL standout Duron Carter.
Regarding his young receivers, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said he was really excited to finally see them in actual gametime action come Sunday afternoon’s preseason matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles:
"“I can’t wait to see them,” said Chuck Pagano at Friday’s training camp practice. “I’m just like everybody else. I’m just like every other fan right now. I can’t wait to see them in live action when the lights are on so to speak, and let them go play.”"
However, like any young player, Pagano doesn’t want his young receivers overthinking things. Rather, he simply wants them to go out there and play fast and hard. Most importantly, he just wants them to have fun with it:
"“My message to them is going to be don’t worry about mistakes,” added Pagano. “You’re going to make mistakes, but just make sure you do it 1,000 miles per hour. Go play extremely hard. Minimize the mistakes, but just go play. Go have fun.”“And you want an honest evaluation of where you’re at, so there’s no reason to hold back in this situation,” concluded Pagano."
He’s not alone in his excitement, as Colts fans will no doubt be waiting with great anticipation to see the team’s young wide receivers make their debut.
