Per NFL.com, Colts Have One of ‘Top Triplets’ for 2015

According to NFL.com Analyst Dave Dameshek, the Indianapolis Colts possess one of the ‘Top Triplets’ heading into the 2015 season. Only this time, it isn’t the NFL’s original and perhaps most famous set in Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, and Edgerrin James.

Instead, years later, it’s Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton, and Frank Gore:

"“4) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, Frank Gore & T.Y. HiltonPrevious rank: No. 8It’s crazy to think Gore is pro football’s most durable success story when knee injuries kept the prodigy off the field more often than not during his days at the U. Even at the decrepit age of 32, 1,100 yards and a half-dozen TDs seem like a sure bet for his first run in Indy, as he provides the theoretical balance the pass-first (and –second and –third) Colts offense has sought. Don’t worry, though, fantasy fans: Luck will continue to fulfill your dreams … and Hilton’s, too.”"

Not quite as intimidating as their triplet predecessors, who frequently electrified the confines of the RCA Dome, but still a pretty dangerous trio of playmakers in this year’s offense. The Colts have had the potent Luck to Hilton combination successfully going for a few seasons already, but Gore figures to provide that missing ingredient in the ground game.

Quite frankly, it’s still surprising to see Gore’s name associated with the Colts, as he’d spent his entire decorated 10-year career with the San Francisco 49ers up to this point. If you’d asked Colts fans, who their ‘Triplets’ would be two seasons ago, most people would’ve had Trent Richardson rounding out this group and laughed at the suggestion of Gore ever as a Colt.

Still, if Gore can rush anywhere close to the 1,100 rushing yards he rushed with the 49ers last season, the Colts will be in great shape. It’ll open up more passing lanes for Luck and Hilton, who connected for 1,346 yards and 7 touchdowns last season, as one of the most prolific QB to WR combinations in the sport.

Also in the NFL’s Top 5 were the Pittsburgh Steelers at #1, the Green Bay Packers at #2, the Seattle Seahawks at #3, and the New England Patriots at #5, which is pretty elite company for the Colts.
