Colts Now Vegas Favorites to Win AFC, Make Super Bowl

The Indianapolis Colts have seen their chances to head to the Super Bowl improve over the past day, at least according to Las Vegas. In the wake of the DeflateGate punishment, specifically Tom Brady being suspended for four games, the Colts odds of representing the AFC in the Super Bowl are better.

According to Bovada LV, the Colts now had 8/1 odds to win the Super Bowl, the best of any teams in the AFC. They trail just the Seattle Seahawks at 11/2, and the Green Bay Packers with 7/1 odds. The New England Patriots sit at 10/1, second best in the AFC (tied for fifth with the Dallas Cowboys) and closely followed by the Denver Broncos at 11/1.

The Colts are 7/2 favorites to win the AFC as well. The Patriots sit at 9/2 odds with the Broncos 5/1 behind them. The old odds for the Pats had them with 7/2 odds to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Despite losing Brady for four games, the Patriots are still heavy favorites to win the AFC East. It certainly doesn’t help that the Colts face the Jets and Bills in the first two weeks of the season while Brady will be serving his suspension.

The suspension, even if it comes down on appeal, gives the Colts an opportunity to get a lead on the Patriots and attempt to get home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
