The Indianapolis Colts 2015 schedule has officially been released tonight. In addition to playing their normal AFC South rivals in the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans, the Colts will also face the teams of the AFC East including their arch-nemesis in the New England Patriots, as well as the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets.

The schedule also has the Colts in matchups against all of the teams of the NFC South in the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Additionally, it also features two “bonus matchups” against Ben Roethlisberger‘s Pittsburgh Steelers and of course, always beloved former Colts all-time great Peyton Manning‘s Denver Broncos.

Without further ado, here’s this year’s 2015 Colts schedule revealed:

Colts fans already know that their team will face some tough challenges against the AFC’s elite teams like the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, and Pittsburgh Steelers. However, their schedule also features other notable opponents that can’t be overlooked. As a breakdown of how their 2015 opponents fared last season in the standings, please see below:

According to an article published earlier this offseason by John Breech of CBS Sportsline, the Indianapolis Colts will face the 2nd easiest schedule (.417), at least as it relates to strength of schedule of how their opponents fared in 2014. The Colts are just one spot ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have seemingly the easiest schedule in the league with a .409 record of their opponents last season.

Of course, the Colts have benefited in recent years from playing in the lowly AFC South, and that doesn’t figure to necessarily change in 2015. However, the team also benefited from the schedule-makers aligning them with the NFC South next season, whose divisional winner went 7-8-1 in the Carolina Panthers last season.

However, a lot can still change between the end of last season and the kickoff of this year’s regular season, as in addition to the plethora of high profile free agent additions and subtractions changing the competitive landscape, teams still have the NFL Draft to upgrade their rosters.

The recently released schedule should make for an exciting season for the Colts, and we’re now one step closer to kick-off…
