According to South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s Omar Kelly, the Indianapolis Colts are reportedly one of Vince Wilfork‘s Top 3 landing spots in terms of free agent suitors:
"@eblack35: what are Wilfork's top 3 targets? And who's the favorite?"» Houston, Baltimore, Indy.

The 11-year veteran has been one of the NFL’s best nose tackles over the past decade. While at age 33, Wilfork isn’t quite the same dominating interior presence he once was, he still figures to help a team’s run defense if used situationally. Earlier, we noted that Wilfork could be a strong candidate to help bolster the Colts run-stopping woes.

With former Miami Hurricane teammates in Andre Johnson and Frank Gore already joining the Colts in a planned get together, Wilfork could join their “reUnion” for one last run at a Lombardi trophy. However, unlike Johnson and Gore, Wilfork is already a 2x Super Bowl Champion and would bring a championship pedigree to this Colts team.
To their credit, the Colts have already addressed a number of holes this offseason with a handful of high-profile free agent signings, also including pass rusher Trent Cole, defensive lineman Kendall Langford, and offensive lineman Todd Herremans. However, the team could still make some moves to significantly address their run defense.
The aforementioned Kendall Langford should help matters, but he alone cannot be the sole addition to improve the defense’s ability to stop the run. At 6’2″, 325 pounds, the big bodied Wilfork would help anchor the defense for the Colts by helping to clog up the middle of the field.
Additionally, Wilfork has always been highly regarded for being a strong locker room presence and veteran leader. With Cory Redding bolting the Colts for the Cardinals, the Colts could use another proven veteran leader to help guide their defense.
Nevertheless, even despite his advanced football age, it looks as though Wilfork is still looking to command a pretty hefty paycheck, all things considered. It will be interesting to see if he’s still within the Colts price range:
I'm told former UM standout Vince Wilfork has three 2-for $10M deals on the table from AFC teams. Should be interesting.
