Andrew Luck Questionable Against the Jaguars

The Indianapolis Colts have officially listed Andrew Luck as Questionable for this weekend’s home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Luck has been limited in practice all week and hasn’t thrown a pass since Sunday’s win over the Titans.

Coach Chuck Pagano said he is “absolutely” confident that Luck will play this weekend and insisted that the signing of Josh Johnson was just to cover the team’s bases. Pagano fielded multiple iterations of the same questions concerning Luck’s availability and continually stated he felt he’d be playing.

Pagano wouldn’t comment when asked if Luck taking off practice was more rest or injury related. He replied only by saying that Luck was “limited” this week at practice. Pagano was clearly irritated with all the various questions regarding Luck’s injury (in fairness most were repetitive).

Pagano put his confidence in Matt Hasselbeck to take control of the team and cited the game against the Tennessee Titans at the end of last season where Hasselbeck played most of the game in a win.

Pagano also referred to the media as a “bunch of frightened birds” regarding Luck’s injury and hoped they would all be able to sleep tonight. He was thankful for a question moving on from Luck, but didn’t seem as concerned as the people in the reporting pool.

Tight end Dwayne Allen was also listed as questionable for Sunday as he recovers from an ankle injury. Pagano ruled out CB Greg Toler (neck) and RB Tyler Varga (concussion) for this week.

There have been no reports of Luck visiting a specialist or even having an MRI on his throwing shoulder. That doesn’t mean that neither have happened, but with a high profile player like Luck those things tend to get out.

The Colts sit at 1-2 this season and need to get above .500 before the schedule gets much more difficult later in October.
