Colts T.Y. Hilton Under League’s Concussion Protocol

According to Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, the team’s star wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is currently in the league’s concussion protocol after suffering from headaches following Saturday night’s preseason game against the St. Louis Rams:

While it was highly unlikely that Hilton and the rest of the team’s starters were going to play in this Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals regardless, it’s a situation worth monitoring with the season opener so close on September 13 at Buffalo.

It’s worth noting that Hilton had 3 receptions for 44 receiving yards against the Rams, but it’s unclear when such a head injury may have occurred:

"“T.Y. (Hilton) after the game came in and was evaluated and is going to go through the concussion protocol. Should be okay,” Pagano said."

Pagano also revealed that Coby Fleener and Phillip Dorsett returned to practice, while Josh Robinson (concussion) and Greg Toler (neck) are still not practicing with the latter remaining “week-to-week”.

According to Fox 59’s Mike Chappell, other Colts reportedly dealing with injuries today are Jalil Brown (shoulder) “day-to-day”, Cam Johnson (ankle) “day-to-day”, and starting defensive lineman Arthur Jones is still seeking a second opinion on his injured ankle:

"“Still awaiting further information. Seeking another opinion on the ankle, so I’ll know more in the future,” said Pagano regarding the status of Jones’ injured ankle."
