Colts Sign Defensive Tackle Jeris Pendleton

The Indianapolis Colts made a minor roster move on Tuesday by essentially re-signing Jeris Pendleton. The move gets the Colts back up to 90 players.

Pendleton is a space eater at 6-2 and 323 pounds and has been with the Colts for the past two seasons.

Pendleton played just 10 snaps in the preseason last year, all at left end. He suffered an injury in his lone preseason appearance and was placed on IR in August following that game against the Jets.

In 2013, Pendleton spent the majority of the season on the Colts’ practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster in Week 17 after

Montori Hughes

went down with an injury. Pendleton would get significant snaps in regular season finale as well as the playoffs against the Chiefs and Patriots.

Pendleton was originally drafted by the Jaguars in the seventh round out of Ashland University in 2012. He played in four games at the end of the season and was released after his rookie year.

Pendleton is already 31-years old and not expected to make much of an impact. He hasn’t been able to crack the Colts active roster, except out of necessity when other players were injured. This will more than likely just be another warm camp body, who happens to be familiar with the team’s playbook.

Expect the Colts to make minor tweaks to the roster before camp starts, and then there will be big changes every week.
