Andrew Luck Has Choice Words About Joining New York Jets

While some sports stars dream for eventually playing under the bright lights of the Big Apple, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck apparently isn’t one of them.

According to the New York Post, Luck was recently at Montauk’s Surf Lounge in New York with ex-Stanford teammate, now Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Jonathan Martin–who previously made headlines by being the primary victim of Richie Incognito‘s bullying while with the Miami Dolphins.

Allegedly, the duo was approached by a diehard Jets fan, who let Luck know that he wished the star quarterback played for his beloved team. However, upon hearing the gang-greener’s plea, Luck chose some choice words for his response:

"“The duo (Andrew Luck and Jonathan Martin) were “drinking Heinekens” and “shooting the breeze about football” with a die-hard Jets fan at the bar, we’re told,” writes Ian Mohr of the New York Post. “When the Gang Green backer told Luck, “I wish you were the quarterback of the Jets,” Luck leaned in and whispered, “F - - k that, man.”"

It looks like Luck doesn’t envy Geno Smith‘s position as starting quarterback for the Jets at all. The Colts quarterback appears quite comfortable in Indianapolis, where he’s surrounded by what appears to be a loaded group of wide receivers and tight ends at his disposal. Both parties are hoping to reach a long-term agreement in the near future, and it looks like Luck will be locked up in Indianapolis for at least the majority of his career.

However, Luck will get to let the Jets know how he really feels in person, as the Colts play the Jets in Week 2 of this year’s regular season at Lucas Oil Stadium on Monday Night Football.

While Jets fans may be hoping for a significant quarterback upgrade over Smith, it doesn’t appear that quarterback replacement will come in the form of Luck anytime soon. He’s already let his displeasure be known about the possibility of playing for the Jets in the future.

Sorry, Jets fans. Luck that!
