Head coach Shane Steichen says Anthony Richardson may still play for the Indianapolis Colts in their crucial Week 17 game against the New York Giants. This game is a must-win for the Colts if they want to have any chance to make the playoffs this season, although there are other things that need to happen for the Colts to make it.

Richardson has not practiced at all this week, following the Colts' victory over the Tennessee Titans in which Richardson -- paired with running back Jonathan Taylor -- ran for nearly 300 yards, and was sacked once. Richardson has become notorious for his ability to escape sacks, even as defenders would try to bring him down. But in interviews this week, he admitted that the physicality of his game has taken a toll.

"From the start of the season, you're going to feel those hits the next day,” he said in. “It's kind of weird because I was telling my family, like in college I didn't really get sore. But NFL, it's a different breed, different game.”

During practice this week, Richardson sat out with reported injuries to his back and foot. Yet Steichen said these injuries were more akin to simple soreness, and that Richardson could still potentially play Sunday - even though he hasn't practiced at all this week.

"We'll have those conversations here in the next 48 hours," Steichen said, adding, "He was just sore all week, really sore, so we're just being smart there."

Also questionable for the Colts in Week 17 are E.J. Speed and Mo Alie-Cox; Speed did not play last week due to a knee injury. While neither Speed nor Alie-Cox practiced Thursday, both were able to participate in Friday's practice. JuJu Brents, who has been on injured reserve (IR) all season, was a full participant, but still has not been removed from IR by Steichen.
