The Indianapolis Colts have had an explosive start to the 2025 season, sitting easily atop the AFC South with a 3-0 record following their win over the Tennessee Titans. With Daniel Jones at quarterback, the team has seemed revitalized, and the offensive weapons already on the roster have been much more effective.
Jonathan Taylor and Alec Pierce have both played extremely well; the offense has been so effective, the Colts punted for the first time in the entire season during the Titans game. And meanwhile, the defense has turned itself around, too. After canning Gus Bradley and hiring Lou Anarumo, the defense was expected to do well, and it has.
Of course, it's still early in the season, but all signs point to a very successful season for the Colts ahead. But a few of their top players were injured during the Week 3 victory; could it end up spelling disaster for Indy?

Pierce has become well-known as a deep threat, able to make big plays. He paired well last season with Anthony Richardson and has played just as well with Jones this season. But while he went for another of his big plays, he ended up getting injured.
Pierce leapt into the air to make the catch, and managed to hold onto the ball - but then he slammed into the ground, his head bouncing off the turf violently. It was obvious he was injured right away; he was slow to get up, and then when he did try to rise to his feet, he struggled and fell back onto the ground.
Pierce has a concussion, and it's not his first, which could be a troubling sign. Already known as a vertical threat, Pierce has been working hard to improve his short and intermediate routes as well, and having him out will be a major blow for the offense.
Head coach Shane Steichen confirmed that Pierce has a concussion in his post-game media remarks, along with another injury: Kenny Moore.
Moore had started the game off with a bang, getting a pick-six right away. He was having a great game overall until he went out with a calf injury.

Like Pierce, losing Moore will be a huge blow, albeit this time for the secondary. Before being injured, Moore had racked up two tackles, a pass breakup, and a defensive touchdown; he is easily one of the best cornerbacks. in the league.
Moore's injury could be even worse than Pierce's for the Colts. There aren't many viable cornerbacks waiting in the wings to replace him, as Justin Walley and Jaylon Jones are both already injured. Chris Lammons seems the most likely choice to replace him if Moore's injury is serious, but it will be a huge blow for the defense.
It is still early, but these two injuries could bring a screeching stop to the Colts' win streak.
