Which Colts undrafted rookies have the best chance to make the team?
The Indianapolis Colts added some fun players through undrafted free agency. These are the players who went through the draft without hearing their names called and signed with a team following the event.
Of the names the Colts added to their roster via undrafted free agency, who has the best chance of making the roster and potentially contributing to the team in 2024?
Xavier White
The Colts added some wide receiver help in the offseason, including drafting Adonai Mitchell in the second round and Anthony Gould in the fifth round. They also re-signed Michael Pittman Jr. and have Josh Downs returning for what's hopefully a successful second season in the pros.
Xavier White could be a nice depth piece for the Colts to have in their wide receiver room. The Texas Tech product had 39 catches for 556 yards and a touchdown in 2023 and also helped the Red Raiders out in the return game. White's versatility could help him stick around in Indianapolis.
Jeblonski Green Jr.
It's always nice to have pass-rushing depth and the Colts could have a nice depth piece in Jeblonski Green Jr. if he makes the roster. Green played at South Carolina State, the same school that produced Shaq Leonard, who wreaked havoc for the Colts for many years.
Green had a heck of a college career, notching 71 pressures and 16 sacks during his time at South Carolina State.
Justin Strong
A running back from a smaller school (Southern Illinois) might not seem like a strong candidate to make the team but Justin Strong is worth keeping an eye on. His overall stats while playing for the Salukis aren't exactly eye-popping but he did have one incredible game against Murray State where he rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown.
Aside from Jonathan Taylor, the Colts running back room leaves a lot to be desired. If Strong can show flashes of potential in training camp and preseason games, he has a shot to make it onto the roster and possibly see the field for the Colts at some point in 2024.
