Countless people across the country can't wait to see what No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson will be able to do with the Indianapolis Colts moving forward. With that said, he's not the only first-year playmaker ready to make a splash for the AFC South side.

In the third round, Chris Ballard and Co. were able to land speedy wide receiver Josh Downs, who was still somehow on the board at No. 79 overall. He's most definitely a youngster who can make a huge impact for this offense.

CBS believes so, as they included the former UNC standout on theirlist of sleepers drafted after Day 1 who could make an impact.

WR Josh Downs could be a huge standout for the Colts moving forward

"Downs will be the extension of Indianapolis' run game in 2023. Particularly with Shane Steichen calling the plays and a rookie quarterback in the shotgun. Steichen was part of the coaching staff that provided Justin Herbert with plenty of easy, schemed-open targets in his rookie season of 2020 then followed by being part of the staff that constructed a cozy environment for Jalen Hurts in 2021. Downs will be the main recipient of Steichen's RPO game and receiver screens of every variety. He's ultra quick and has sneaky explosiveness. Plus, he tracks the football like he's 6-foot-2.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder may not be the biggest wide receiver out there, but he's known for his great hands and fantastic speed. He's going to be a great option for Richardson and the Colts offense moving forward.

Last season for the Tar Heels, Downs posted 94 receptions for 1,029 yards and 11 touchdowns. Downs is going to be put in a position to make an immediate impact and there's no question he's got potential for head coach Shane Steichen. Fans are excited to see what the first-year WR can get done this fall.
