Recent Colts jerseys crowned as the worst in franchise history
The Indianapolis Colts have a pretty traditional uniform with blue jerseys and white pants as their home look. That makes it tricky to narrow down the worst jerseys the team has ever donned.
Christian D'Andrea of For The Win wrote an article about what he thought was the worst jersey for every NFL team. For the Colts, it was the 2023 "Indiana Nights" alternate uniform.
"My body rejects any attempt to make a Colts jersey without its perfect vertical double shoulder stripes. This alternate would be fine (OK, maybe not *fine*) for any other team. Just not the one for which Johnny Unitas and Peyton Manning once played."
- Christian D'Andrea
D'Andrea's issue with the Indiana Nights jersey was that it didn't have the "perfect vertical double shoulder stripes" and that they don't work for a team that had Johnny Unitas and Peyton Manning play for them at one time. In other words, they don't look like the classic style that people are used to seeing the Colts wear.
2023 alternates named Colts worst jerseys
There aren't a ton of Colts uniforms to pick from so it's not shocking to see the 2023 alternates chosen here. While I don't have a strong opinion on the Indiana Nights look, the Colts have one of the more traditional jerseys in the league so whenever they're not wearing those, it's going to take a little bit of getting used to.
That being said, at least the Colts tried something different here. At the same time, at least they don't have anything as hideous as the Jaguars' mustard yellow jerseys or those awful bumblebee throwbacks that we've seen the Steelers wear in the past, so it could be way worse.
