Safety (4)

Roster Locks: Julian Blackmon, Nick Cross, Rodney Thomas, Trevor Denbow
Practice Squad: Marcel Dabo (IPP), Henry Black
Cuts: Teez Tabor, Ronnie Harrison Jr.

This unit seems to be solidified with the playing time we saw in the preseason games. Nick Cross can play both safety spots, so this gives them versatility in the secondary. If there was a discussion, its Denbow vs Harrison for the final spot at safety but Denbow’'s ability to play special teams gives him the edge over any of the other candidates at this position.

*Marcel Dabo is on the roster for the NFL International Pathway Program so if he doesn't make the roster, he can stay on the practice squad while not counting towards the final practice squad number*

Specialists (3)

Roster Locks: Matt Gay (K), Rigoberto Sanchez (P), Luke Rhodes (LS)
Practice Squad: None
Cuts: Lucas Havrisik

Not a whole lot of analysis is needed here, all three are proven commodities at their respective positions. Matt Gay is the newcomer at kicker and Sanchez returns to punting duties after missing last season with an Achillies injury.
