The Indianapolis Colts did not receive a primetime game last season until the end of the year when it came down to them and the Houston Texans for the AFC South title and a spot in the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Colts were on the losing end of that game but now that people have seen what the Colts are capable of, it's unlikely they get zero primetime games scheduled for 2024.

Let's look at some potential primetime games the Colts might have in 2024.

At least 1 game vs. Houston Texans

With the Texans being a team on the rise in 2024, it's not crazy to think that the Colts might have to see them in primetime at some point during the season. It was an exhiliarating game between them the last time around plus the NFL can pit Anthony Richardson against fellow first-round pick in 2023 C.J. Stroud.

This game could very well be a great option for a Thursday night game or even Sunday night if the league thinks the Colts can be competitive enough in 2024.

Against one of the other AFC South rivals

In all likelihood, the best chance the Colts have at getting a second primetime game is against one of their other two division rivals. The Titans were lousy a season ago but every team gets at least a Thursday night game so that could come against the Colts. The Jaguars were the NFL darlings a year ago but imploded during the 2023 season. That being said, pitting them against the Colts can't be ruled out.

vs. Bears

The only reason I included this one here is because this was the match-up for Super Bowl XLI that the Colts reigned victorious in. It's doubtful that the younger audience would care much about that Super Bowl rematch at all but pitting Richardson against rookie quarterback Caleb Williams could be a fun angle. If this were a match-up on the primetime schedule, it has Monday Night Football written all over it.
