The Indianapolis Colts were a dropped pass from Tyler Goodson away from not only making the playoffs in 2023, but winning the AFC South as well.

They overcame losing their rookie quarterback, Anthony Richardson, and were on the brink of making the postseason in what was being looked at as a rebuilding season for the franchise. Now that Richardson is expected to be healthy for the 2024 campaign, you'd think they'd have a great chance of making the playoffs, right? Not according to the oddsmakers they don't.

It's not all bad news, Colts fans. Let's take a look at the odds for the Colts to make the postseason and then I'll break down how we can take advantage of them.

Colts odds to make the playoffs

Colts present betting value to make the playoffs

DraftKings Sportsbook currently has the Colts' odds to make the playoffs set at +160, which translates to an implied probability of 38.46%.

Indianapolis has had a relatively quiet offseason in terms of acquiring new talent. They made a couple of key re-signins in Michael Pittman and Zaire Franklin, but have yet to make any big splashes. They still have plenty of time left on the offseason and they also hold the No. 15 pick in next month's NFL Draft. I have no doubt they will have an improved roster by the time their season kicks off in September.

There are two major indicators that the Colts are in for a great 2024. The first and foremost is they'll get Richardson back under center. He showed flashes of excellence in his first few starts as a rookie and he will certainly be able to take this team to the next level.

The other is their strength of schedule. Indianapolis has one of the easiest schedules in the AFC with its opponents having a combined winning percentage of .491 in 2023. Only the Titans, Dolphins, and Chargers have an easier schedule in the AFC.

The best news about the Colts' current odds to make the playoffs is that if you believe in them, you can win a decent chunk of change on them this season. At +140, you'd win a profit of $140 ($240 total) on a $100 wager if they're able to pull it off.
