Is Zack Moss playing today? (Latest injury update for Jaguars vs. Colts in NFL Week 1)
By Peter Dewey
The Indianapolis Colts’ running back situation continues to get bit by the injury bug.
Starting running back Jonathan Taylor is currently on the PUP list, and now it appears the team won’t have backup Zack Moss in Week 1, as he was downgraded to doubtful on Saturday.
Moss is dealing with a forearm injury. If he can’t go, Deon Jackson, Evan Hull and Jake Funk are next up on the depth chart for the Colts.
Zack Moss injury status for Week 1 game against Jacksonville Jaguars
After initially being listed as questionable, Moss was downgraded to doubtful by the team on Saturday. That puts his chances of playing on Sunday in serious jeopardy.
Best Colts prop bets if Zack Moss misses Week 1
Deon Jackson OVER 58.5 rushing and receiving yards
Someone has to carry the ball for the Colts on Sunday, and Jackson has to have gained some trust from the organization after his play in 2022 when Taylor was out.
Jackson had three games where he cleared this number, and he showed he can really be a threat as a receiver, registering games with 75, 79 and 29 receiving yards. Having someone to check down to out of the backfield should be helpful for rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson in his debut.
I don’t mind taking the OVER on Jackson and hoping he gets the lion’s share of the touches over Hull.
