Well, that was fun, but the Colts turn back to the defensive side in Round 4. At pick no. 117, Indianapolis opts to go with Clemson pass rusher Xavier Thomas. The Colts don't have that intimidating, All Pro caliber pass rusher but they get to the quarterback as a team, and they do it well.
Thomas will only add to that strength. At 6-foot-2, 244lbs, Thomas is a little undersized. But, he makes up for it with excellent technique and a motor that never turns off. He's one of those "every play is your last" types and takes the game personally. He'll be, at the very least, a strong rotational rusher.
Staying on the defensive side of the ball with the fourth out of five picks, the Colts once again go to the defensive back field, selecting Tennessee cornerback Kamal Hadden. What the Colts will love about Hadden is the fact that he's a bigger defensive back who can cover a variety of types and can be used in a variety of coverages.
Hadden displays a nice ability to stop and change direction in order to stay with his man, and also reacts well to breaks in front of him. As a depth piece, Hadden is going to be a valuable member of the roster, and at the very least, will be a special teams ace.
