Team 2: The Kansas City Chiefs
Insert the Michael Scott "No, God! Please, no!" GIF below, because that is exactly how we would all be feeling about a Jonathan Taylor-to-Kansas City trade.
Last year, many questioned whether or not Patrick Mahomes would have enough talent to work with after the team traded wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. All he did was go on to lead the NFL in passing yards, win the MVP and the Super Bowl. No big deal, right?
As if this offense needed another game-breaking star player.
The irony here, is that the Chiefs very well could have had Taylor back in that 2020 NFL Draft. Instead, they took LSU product Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Ah, what could have been!
Back to the matter at hand, though. If you were the Colts and traded Taylor to the Chiefs, for some God-forsaken reason, you might as well just hand them another Lombardi. Isiah Pacheco is plenty good enough and showed a ton of juice, grit and another gear as he came on last season. But, imagine pairing he and Taylor together.
The ability to keep Taylor's legs a little fresher with someone as capable as Pacheco behind him would make arguably the best back field in all of football, and we don't want to see that.
