Quarterback (2)

Roster Locks: Anthony Richardson, Joe Flacco
Practice Squad: Kedon Slovis (3rd QB)
Cuts: Sam Ehlinger, Jason Bean

This one is self-explanatory as Anthony Richardson will return from his season-ending shoulder injury. Last year’s backup quarterback Gardner Minshew has moved to Las Vegas and former Cleveland backup Joe Flacco is in. Flacco will be a great voice for Richardson this season as he continues to acclimate himself into the Shane Steichen offense.

Expect Ehlinger, Slovis, and Bean to compete for the final QB spot. Colts gave Slovis a small guarantee to get him to join the team for offseason activities, so don’t be surprised if he not only makes the practice squad but has a real opportunity to make this team as the emergency QB. I do think Slovis beats out Ehlinger but not only because of his talent, but I think it’s time for Ehlinger to get a fresh start somewhere else.

Running Back (3)

Roster Locks: Jonathan Taylor, Evan Hull, Trey Sermon
Practice Squad: Tyler Goodson
Cuts: Zavier Scott

A bit of a different look to the early RB room for 2024, as Zack Moss has moved on to Cincinnati and 2023 draft pick Evan Hull returns from injury. Of course, Jonathan Taylor will be the lead back. Look for Ballard to potentially add to this room in free agency depending on the performance in the offseason. Sermon and Goodson could be battling for the last spot if they only keep three backs.
