Wide Receiver: D.J. Montgomery
The Colts added a pair of wide receivers in the draft, with Texas standout Adonai Mitchell coming in the second and Oregon State's Anthony Gould in the fifth. The two rookies join Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, Josh Downs and Ashton Dulin. If the Colts keep six wideouts, those might just be the six. That would leave veteran D.J. Montgomery firmly on the outside, barring a strong summer during camp.
Tight End: Will Mallory
Are the Colts ever going to figure out the tight end position? Currently, the team has four tight ends on the roster in which they have drafted in the past four years -- none in the 2024 class, though. Between Jelani Woods, Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree and Will Mallory, this team has to be able to find a solution, right?
Mallory is one of the four which have been drafted in the last four years, coming in the fifth round back in last year's class. Currently, he's fourth on the depth chart. If the Colts keep four tight ends, then he should be in good shape. If not, he's on the outside looking in.
Offensive Line: Jake Witt
Indy drafted Matt Goncalves in the third round this year, and he joins Bernhard Raimann, Braden Smith and Blake Freeland as the team's top four offensive tackles. Jake Witt is listed as no. 5, and there's a good chance the Colts only keep four tackles. If that's the case, Witt has a shot at the practice squad.
