Colts 7-Round Mock Draft: Indianapolis addresses top two concerns immediately
By Ryan Heckman
In Round 2, the Colts find that second offensive playmaker the offense has been missing. Some might have thought it could end up being Alec Pierce or Josh Downs, but neither one of them look fully capable to take over such a responsibility on a full-time basis.
That's where Florida State's Keon Coleman comes into play. The 6-foot-3 standout wide receiver is built strong and athletically, just as a legitimate no. 1 wide receiver should be. But, he'll come in as the WR2 next to Michael Pittman Jr. Who knows, maybe this ends up being a 1A and 1B situation when it's all said and done -- and that would be a phenomenal outcome.
Coleman is all about effort and doing the right thing at the right time. He's laser-focused when it comes to catching and securing the football. He knows how to make moves and gain yards after the catch, even at his size. His ball skills are impeccable, especially on those 50/50 throws.
He also has a nose for the end zone. Last season, he caught a touchdown for every 4.5 catches he secured. Coleman gives Anthony Richardson another immediate weapon, and this offense will be off and rolling.
