Wide Receiver (6)
Roster Locks: Micheal Pittman Jr, Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, Adonai Mitchell, Ashton Dulin, Anthony Gould
Practice Squad: DJ Montgomery, Laquon Treadwell
Roster Cuts: Derek Slywka, Juwann Winfree, Tyrie Cleveland, Greg Ward

Last year, this staff decided to take four receivers on the initial opening roster, but I cannot see them doing that this season, especially with the new kickoff rules and the importance of special teams. Anthony Gould was drafted to really help in the return game and Ashton Dulin is a special teams ace, which is exactly what you want from that 6th wide receiver position.

Look for this staff to keep some names on the practice squad. Those names could be DJ Montgomery, Laquan Treadwell, Juwann Winfree and don’t rule out the team grabbing a player off waivers from another team’s roster cut.

Tight End (4)
Roster Locks: Mo Alie-Cox, Kylen Granson, Will Mallory, Drew Ogletree
Practice Squad: None
Roster Cuts: Eric Tomlinson, Jordan Murray

Another unfortunate injury has struck Jelani Woods, who was believed to be fighting for a roster spot. He had successful surgery to repair this turf toe injury, but the recovery is expected to be approximately 4 months. If the team has a chance at the playoffs, we might see Woods return but I think it is unlikely that we will see him this season.

Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox return as the starters (both in a contract year) while Ogletree and Mallory will return as rotational and situational players. This room is good but not great and lacks that game-changing player the Colts need from this position.
