Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard made a few media appearances while Indy hosted the 2024 scouting combine. His main media session was the typical combine interview with gathered media, but he also made one local radio appearance and an appearance with Rich Eisen of NFL Network during player drills.

Throughout the three conversations, Ballard spoke on a ton of topics regarding the Colts and their offseason. Here are some quick hits and talking points from the media sessions.

The future Of Micheal Pittman Jr.

Ballard made it abundantly clear from the beginning of his initial press conference that Micheal Pittman Jr. would be a Colt in 2024. Indianapolis wants him back and he wants to be back. Ballard mentioned that the franchise tag is a “tool” they can use but he is wanted for a long-term extension and is valued in the building.

Supporting Richardson with pass catchers and offensive playmakers will be paramount to his growth for 2024, so keeping Pittman is a must. The deadline for players to be designated with the franchise tag is Tuesday March 5 at 4pm ET.
