At the end of the 2023 season, the Indianapolis Colts were within striking distance of the playoffs. But the team's postseason dreams were crushed in a down-to-the-wire loss to the Houston Texans, newly-crowned darlings of the AFC South. The Colts finished the season with a 9-8 record, even with Anthony Richardson out for the season.

This year, the Colts are looking to build on last season's momentum. With Richardson healthy, a young roster full of talent, and Head Coach Shane Steichen continuing to push the team towards success, the Colts finished the preseason with a 2-1 record.

The Colts will be looking to win the AFC South this year, but the Texans are widely favored to come out on top again. In Week 1, the Colts will be looking to disrupt that narrative with a surprise win -- one that would be even sweeter given the heartbreak of their last loss.
