These heartwarming messages from Anthony Richardson’s family are must-see content

After being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts, Anthony Richardson was congratulated by his friends and family with some heartwarming messages.

In the first-round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected quarterback Anthony Richardson with the fourth-overall pick in the draft. On the television broadcast, Richardson was visibly emotional as he received the call and walked across the stage to shake the commissioner’s hand. That was just the start for Richardson.

After walking across the stage and finishing up their on-stage interviews, the league had a few suprises for the new draftees. One of the surprises was a prerecorded video message from loved ones, and the other surprise was a FaceTime call with someone else that the prospects are close with.

For Richardson, the prerecorded video was of his little brother, who Richardson called his “mini me” on Thursday’s red carpet. In the video, Richardson’s brother expressed how proud he is of Anthony, and how thankful he is that he has an older brother like him to look up to. As the video ended, Richardson was overcome with emotion and said, “Goodness gracious, man. Y’all trying to get all the tears out of me.”

Richardson explained that his younger brother pushes him to be the best version of himself, and that he’s here because of his family. Richardson also offered some advice to his younger brother, mainly telling him to stay true to himself and to strive to be better than him.

Following that emotional moment, the league took Richardson to another surprise room. Before entering, Richardson asked, “Is this gonna make me cry?” In the room was a giant screen with Richardson’s teammate and lifelong friend Ja’Quavion Frazier on a live call. The two had the opportunity to briefly chat and joke as Frazier congratulated Richardson.

Richardson was completely caught by surprise as he tried to not get emotional again while explaining how long he and “Baby J”, as he called him, knew each other.

It has been a whirlwind of emotions for Anthony Richardson since getting drafted by the Colts but it’s clear that he’s surrounded by a loving family as he prepares to get to work for Indianapolis.
