Into the Indy-Verse: Comparing Colts to people in the Spider-Verse
By Noah Compton
5. Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man
"When Peter B. was pulled into Miles’ universe in Into the Spider-Verse, he had no interest in helping Miles defeat Kingpin, let alone becoming Miles’ mentor. After more than two decades of fighting crime as the Spider-Man of Earth-616, Peter B. was worn out both physically and emotionally. Luckily, Miles and the Spider-Gang helped reinvigorate Peter B.’s enthusiasm for being a hero and he returned to his universe ready to turn his life around."

" In Across the Spider-Verse, we learn that Peter B. made things right with his wife, Mary Jane, and the two had a child together, a little girl whom the couple name Mayday. Peter B. expresses hope that his daughter will turn out to be like Miles."

Comparison: LB Shaquille Leonard
Similarly to the previous comparison, this one shines light on the comparee's life outside of football. Shaquille Leonard is widely known for his fight for mental health normalization while also being a wonderful girl dad, like Peter B., to two little girls, Mia and Laila.
Peter B. Parker quickly emerged from a loathsome ex-superhero into a father figure when he crossed paths with Miles Morales. Not to say Leonard needed any character building of this regard, but it's clear that the two share much more than being parents as they appear to genuinely want the best for anyone that's in their life and both are willing to do whatever necessary to get their point across.
