The Philadelphia Eagles are winless this preseason, but that’s with an 18-18 tie with the Browns last week to get them to 0-1-1 this preseason. Shane Steichen and the Indianapolis Colts are 1-1 heading into their head coaches reunion in Philly after helping lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl last year.
It’s the final tuneup before the regular season as the Colts and Eagles matchup after a week of joint practices. The Colts are favored in this one, though that wouldn’t be the case in the regular season. Let’s get into those odds.

Colts vs. Eagles prediction and pick
Indy fans have to hope whatever magic Shane Steichen used with Jalen Hurts last season rubs off on Anthony Richardson. Maybe, those two being so close in joint practices will help with Richardson’s development because he needs to improve in a lot of the same areas that Hurts needed to.
Richardson didn’t get any playing time last week against the Bears in Indy’s win, but he’s likely to get a few reps before getting the start in Week 1 of the regular season. He needs the reps a lot more than Hurts, so the Colts will likely have their starters out on the field more than the Eagles. The Colts also have the better backup quarterback once he does take over.
Marcus Mariota went 9/17 for 86 yards and an interception last week for the Eagles. Tanner McKee, their third stringer was actually the better passer with a 10/18 day for 147 yards and a touchdown. Despite McKee’s efforts last week I still like a QB room with Gardner Minshew and Sam Ehlinger better.
Minshew went 13/15 for 107 yards and a touchdown last week, so I’m feeling a little better about the Colts offense with Minshew than the Eagles with Mariota. I’ll take the Colts even as a favorite.
