With their second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. He'll add juice to the offense and give second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson a new weapon to throw to.

The rookie jersey numbers have been revealed and Mitchell is going to don number 10 during the 2024 season. According to Stephen Holder, this was not a random picking of numbers as some rookies have to do if their preferred number was taken.

Holder said that Mitchell picked this number because there were 10 wide receivers drafted ahead of Mitchell. The 10 receivers taken ahead of Mitchell were Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, Brian Thomas, Xavier Worthy, Ricky Pearsall, Xavier Legette, Keon Coleman, Ladd McConkey, and Ja'Lynn Polk.

Adonai Mitchell picked his jersey number for motivational reasons

This was a loaded wide receiver class but Colts fans are happy to have Mitchell in Indianapolis for at least the first chunk of his career. Mitchell had 845 receiving yards and a whopping 11 touchdowns for the Longhorns during the 2023 season and hopefully he brings that explosiveness to the Colts offense.

This team could be a lot of fun to watch in 2024 and it'd be even more fun if Mitchell made teams look foolish for passing on him.
