Colts release their first depth chart of the 2024 season
Can they avenge their 2023 loss to the Texans on Sunday?
Defense
- DE: Kwity Paye, Laiatu Latu
- DT: DeForest Buckner, Adetomiwa Adebawore
- NT: Grover Stewart, Taven Bryan, Raekwon Davis
- DE: Tyquan Lewis, Dayo Odeyingbo, Isaiah Land
- WLB: E.J. Speed
- MLB: Zaire Franklin, Segun Olubi
- SAM: Jaylon Carlies, Grant Stuard
- CB: JuJu Brents, Dallis Flowers
- FS: Nick Cross, Rodney Thomas II, Trevor Denbow
- SS: Julian Blackmon
- N: Kenny Moore II
- CB: Jaylon Jones, Samuel Womack III
Nick Cross is now officially the starter at free safety, opposite of Julian Blackmon's strong safety. Interestingly, there is no backup for Blackmon, so if he's injured, there's a good chance Cross will take over for Blackmon, and Rodney Thomas suiting up at free safety. Rookie Jaylon Carlies is also, as expected, taking the SAM spot, despite having played safety in college at Missouri. Segun Olubi and EJ Speed give the team some flexibility on defense, as Carlies, Olubi, and Speed can play all three linebacker positions interchangeably.
