The Indianapolis Colts have their starting rooking quarterback Anthony Richardson back in the lineup, and no one seems to be more happy than wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. On Sunday, both Richardson and Pittman arrived to Lucas Oil Stadium wearing matching Step Brothers-inspired shirts. Instead of Dale and Brennan photographed in their sweater vests, the faces of Richardson and Pittman were photoshopped on to the shirt.

Naturally, the Colts shared the images with the brilliant caption, “Did we just become best friends,” quoting the classic 2008 comedy.

This is, of course, Richardson’s first game back since entering the concussion protocol in Week 2. The rookie quarterback missed Indy’s Week 3 win against the Baltimore Ravens, but he’s hoping to pick up where he left off. Richardson had two rushing touchdowns in the first quarter of the Week 2 game against the Houston Texans, and he has looked really good passing and running so far this season.

Connecting with Michael Pittman Jr. will surely help him continue to do that. In a pivotal contract year, Pittman has been dominating this season. Through three games, he has 25 receptions for 230 yards and one touchdown. Pittman is the only NFL receiver with at least eight receptions in each of the first three games, and his only touchdown was Richardson’s first career passing touchdown.

It’s great to see that the rookie QB has a great off-field connection with his No. 1 receiver, and that should only help their on-field connection. That connection will need to be really strong on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. As the Colts try to pick up their third straight win, they’ll be without multiple starting offensive linemen, as they try to slow down Aaron Donald and the Rams defense. Hopefully, the power of friendship will help the offense remain productive.
