Most Valuable Player: Michael Pittman Jr.

The best player on the Colts roster this year had to be Michael Pittman Jr. who excelled in 2023 to be considered a true WR1 in the NFL. Finishing 14th in receiving with 109 receptions for 1,152 yards, Pittman had a career year. Even with just the four touchdowns on the season, Pittman forced defenses to play more on his side, opening other targets for Minshew to throw to all season. That didn't stop the passes from coming his way, though.

Pittman was thrown to the ninth most by any receiver in the NFL. He saw 156 targets come his was on the season, only behind superstars like CeeDee Lamb, Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Stefon Diggs, and A.J. Brown.

Pittman used 2023 to emerge as a top 10 receiver in the league in a contract year. Many thought the Colts would extend him at some point during the regular season, but he never let that affect his play. He went into camp saying that he wasn't worried about contract negotiations and he'd let his play do the talk.

Pittman did exactly that and now he enters an open market starting in March. Will General Manager Chris Ballard and the Indianapolis Colts extend him before then? We will see over the next two months. Legal tampering begins on March 11th and the new league year starts on March 13th at 4pm EST.
