Even though the Indianapolis Colts are in the thick of a playoff race, there are some questions that remain with this football team. There are a few questions on the defensive side of the ball that loom large and another major injury has struck this team. One simple belief will help answer these questions and that belief is next man up.

Let’s take a look at four of the most pressing questions for Indianapolis.

4. Is Gus Bradley the answer at defensive coordinator for Colts?

The Colts currently sit at 24th in total defense and there have been some calls for a change with current Indianapolis defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. Don’t forget, Bradley and his staff were retained when Frank Reich was let go and the Colts hired Shane Steichen in the offseason. However, it’s unclear if Steichen wanted to keep Bradley around or if it was a request made by Ballard.

The defensive unit has overall been decent, but inconsistency has been the problem. Indy’s defense is young, no doubt, but fans were hoping to see more growth than they have seen so far. Could the real problem have been the disconnect with Shaquille Leonard? Did this cause some distraction amongst the locker room and the coaching staff?

If rookie corner JuJu Brents can return, it would undoubtedly help bring some stability to the secondary. Is this a defense that can win a playoff game or go on a run in January for the playoffs? All questions that will soon be answered.
