Anthony Richardson gets utterly disrespected by PFF's ranking of top players under-25
The Indianapolis Colts spent the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson. Some might have seen it as a risky move considering that Richardson had one impressive year and even then, his numbers weren't as eye-popping as the two signal-callers who went ahead of him in the draft.
That being said, Richardson looked the part of an early first-round pick in the four games he started as a rookie. While a shoulder injury ended up sidelining him for the rest of his rookie campaign, Richardson threw for 577 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception while dashing for 136 yards and four scores with his legs.
Well, Zoltán Buday of PFF didn't think Richardson was all that impressive, as he omitted the former Florida signal-caller on his list of top 25 players under the age of 25. To add insult to injury, two quarterbacks from the AFC South made Buday's list with Trevor Lawrence coming in at No. 3 and C.J. Stroud landing in the No. 7 spot.
Anthony Richardson omitted from PFF's top 25 under 25 rankings
While Colts fans think Richardson deserves to make the cut, it isn't entirely crazy to see why he was left off. He only started four games in 2023 and he's definitely more of a running quarterback. These could be reasons why Buday excluded Richardson despite him looking solid in the first four games of his career.
Let's hope that Richardson bounces back in a big way during his sophomore season and can go on to prove why he one hundred percent without a doubt should have been included in the top 25 players under 25 years old list.
