Alternate angle of Anthony Richardson's 60-yard TD pass is insane
The Indianapolis Colts might have lost their Week 1 match-up against the Houston Texans but Anthony Richardson made the highlight reels, that's for sure. Starting his first game since getting injured in Week 4 a season ago, Richardson had one of the best (if not the best) touchdown throws of Week 1.
With the Colts trailing 3-0 with roughly five minutes remaining in the first quarter, Richardson uncorked the football 60 yards down the field to Alec Pierce, who got into the end zone. Before he threw the football, however, Richardson slipped but still somehow managed to get the ball out and unleash that beauty of a pass to Pierce.
It's throws like this one that made Richardson such an appealing prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft and precisely why the Colts took him fourth overall. We saw the potential from Richardson during his shortened rookie season and this throw encapsulated just what makes him so fun to watch.
Well, there's been another angle released of Richardson's mesmerizing touchdown pass. The angle is an overhead shot and you can really see how much Richardson slipped before making the throw, once again highlighting his athleticism and deep ball ability.
Overhead angle of Anthony Richardson's TD throw further displays how crazy the play was
While the Colts went on to lose the game, it was only by two points. Richardson threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns off of nine completions and threw one interception on the day. He also rushed for 56 yards and another score, giving him three total touchdowns in his first start of the 2024 season.
There's going to be growing pains with Richardson but as this touchdown pass indicated, there are going to be plays where he makes peoples' jaws hit the floor with what he can do on the football field. Not many quarterbacks in the league are going to make this kind of throw and the Colts are fortunate that they have one of the quarterbacks who has proven that he can.
